Concept sketches for one of the three animal friends living in the vacant lot.
We first saw Mr. Squirrel clutched in Geer’s sweaty palm:
He plays a pretty big role in the first episode, so we needed a puppet for him. Before starting down that road, we needed some concept art to nail down his design.
A first, uncolored sketch. He’s got a nice sense of fearful vacancy in his eyes, but this is Frown Town after all. He needs to be bedraggled, like a he just escaped the wheels of a rusty beater only to fall into the clutches of a preteen sociopath.
And there we go. Bug-eyed and bushy tailed.
